HUTECH student named as Champion the 2015’s Sakura Collection competition.

Inspired by the Samurai spirit of the nation of the Rising Sun, but approached from a completely different and bold angle, the “Samurai” collection by Vương Khang swept out the crowd of 71 competitors and gained the heart of the judges at the Finales, taking place in Ha Noi, in the evening of the 8th of November.

The Collection consisted of 5 unique designs that flare Japanese cultural traits. “The main design language is mixing different layers. Therefore, I couldn’t help being without highest carefulness in choosing the material, the thickness and the allocating.”, said Khang.

Speaking about the hardness in bringing the idea to life, Khang smiled: “The most difficult part was heat-printing because I was using lame. I gotta try the printing over and over until I got the most flawless design. Specially, the models wore their hair up high with a short branch of real cherry blossom, which helped message the romance of the Samurai’s love.”

As the winner, Vương khang also got the ticket to Sakura Collection Show in Japan in 2/2016, accompanied by the counterparts of the event from Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
As informed, Khang is allegedly introducing the fashion line “Mew.K” for men, which he had chosen as his main design language in the journey of his profession.
