14 HUTECH students was honored at the 2015 Central “5-Good Students” Ceremony

At the 2015 “5-Good Students” honoring ceremony on 7th January 2016, HUTECH is proud to become the nationwide leading university at the event with 14 outstanding students honored with the title.
To celebrate the 66th Vietnam Traditional Student day, the Central Vietnam Student Association has organized the “Student Star” Award to honor the excellent students with the “5-Good Student” title. The event had the opportunity to welcome Mr. Dinh La Thang - Minister of Transport, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Nghia – Deputy Minister of Education and Traning, Mr. Le Quoc Phong – President of the Vietnam Student Association; as well as representatives from Hanoi and central ministries, departments, unions, and nearly 1000 students from Hanoi itself.
During this meaningful event, HUTECH is proud to become the university that has the highest number of students being awarded with the title, 14 students, taking the lead amongst universities and colleges nationwide for school year 2014-2015. Especially, student Le Van Tam from Faculty of Biotechnology – Food – Environment was also awarded with the “Student Star” award for outstanding Union member with excellent achievement in studying and working.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Phong – President of Vietnam Student Association has recognized the achievements of Vietnamese students during the process of industrialization – modernization of the country. Those are the national and international medals, projects, researches, creative awards. It is not only the spirit of overcoming challenges in learning and training, despite difficult circumstances, but also the image of the volunteers in the uniform working for the good of the community under the annual national Green Summer campaign. From 268 outstanding records from 35 provinces, the Council has selected 101 students qualified for the title of Central “5-Good Student”. In order to have the honor of standing on stage and receiving the title, the candidates must first achieve their “5 Good Student” title at town, city or equivalent levels. Besides, they must be the outstanding role models with good doings, have excellent discipline scores, as well as average academic scores from 3.4/4 for bachelor degree or 3.2/4 for diploma; foreign language level from B1; highly participate in scientific research activities; be involved in at least 5 days of volunteering activities, international exchange and Marxism – Leninism and Hochiminh thoughts related activites.
Le Van Tam (HUTECH) shared his thoughts after receiving the title: “This prestigious title is not only about
my own efforts, but also the support from my university HUTECH in creating a great environment for us students to practice and enhance ourselves, including organizing soft skill classes, English groups, Student festivals and scientific research activities, etc. I would like to sincerely thank the Party, the University Board and Student Association of HUTECH.”
Launched at the 9th National Conference of Vietnam Student Association (term 2013-2018), the “5 Good Student” activity has developed significantly around the country and has become the motivation for students to work harder. It is only the recognition for their efforts, but also an illustration of Vietnam students’ tradition of being hard-working, honest, enthusiastic, creative and proactive in every circumstances to meet the expectation of the country. The standards for “5 Good Student” includes Good ethics, Good study, Good physical condition, Good voluntary, Good interaction. These will help students tobe more responsible in practicing themselves from the moment they step into the university until the future in which they contribute to the country.
Staying true to the target, generations of “5 Good Student” (at multiple levels) from HUTECH have grown
into excellent contributors of enhancing the human resource quality of the society in the recent years.
