"HUTECH Spelling Bee" Gameshow

On June 24, 2016, taking place at 475A Dien Bien Phu main campus was the finals of the competition "HUTECH Spelling Bee" organized for the 1^st time by the Institute of International Education, HCMC University of Technology (HUTECH).

"HUTECH Spelling Bee" found its winners

With the goal of making an informative playground that combines with English practice to help students improve their vocabulary and spelling ability, the contest attracted the participation of more than 50 students belonging to the Business Administration bachelor program from Lincoln International University (United States) and Open University Malaysia of HUTECH Institute of International Education.

The final round had the similar content as the preliminary round; however, the difficulty of the word type had been gradually increased

The final round though having the similar content as the preliminary round, but the difficulty of the word type was gradually increased with many peculiar and arduous vocabularies. Accordingly, the 12 contestants had to respectively listen to the judges reading an English word then perform the following tasks: correctly pronounce, spell, write and read the word again. Contestants who answered correctly were retained in the competition and direct elimination for those with wrong answers. The final round continued with the difficulty of the vocabulary again gradually increased until there was only one contestant left. That was the contest winner.
With quite simple rules but exciting and dramatic, the final round made its mark by the intense competitive and thrilling atmosphere. Accordingly, Mai Quynh Chi, a freshman of the Business Administration bachelor program from Open University Malaysia (OUM) excellently defeated all her competitors to achieve victory.

First prize: Mai Quynh Nhi (Class 15BOBA01)
Second Prize: Ho Thanh Nhat (13BLBA02)
Third Prize: Nguyen Thi Kim Hang (Class 14BLBA01)
