HUTECH, The host of Ho Chi Minh City Student Games.
Ho Chi Minh University of Technology (HUTECH) is the host for the 3rd of Student Chess Championship 2016 on the occasion of the 3rd of Ho Chi Minh City University Student Games (HCUS GAMES 3) 2016. HCUS GAMES 3 includes 11 sports, such as: Jogging, Table tennis, Taekwondo, Vovinam, Basket ball, Swimming, Volley ball, Athletics, Tug of war, Chess and Soccer which is a healthful and meaningful playground for all students in Ho Chi Minh City to involve in the game, to train their health, to make a contribution to enhance sports movement in Ho Chi Minh city and also to find out the athletes forces for forming Ho Chi Minh city teams to attend National and International Games.

The opening ceremony of Student Chess Championship will take place at 7:00 a.m. on 22nd of April at Hall B, HUTECH Headquarters – 475A Dien Bien Phu. According to the announcement of the organization department, there are 59 competitors (35 boys and 24 girls) from 13 colleges and universities in Ho Chi Minh city, including: University of Law Ho Chi Minh City (ULHCMC – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City), Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture (UAH), University of Medicine and Pharmacy Ho Chi Minh City (UMPH), University of Economics and Finance Ho Chi Minh City (UEF), Van Lang University (VLU), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), Ho Chi Minh University of Sport (USH), University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), Ho Chi Minh City Open University (OU), Ho Chi Minh University of Technology (HCMUT – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City), Ho Chi Minh City College of Foreign Economics Relations (COFER) and Ho Chi Minh University of Technology (HUTECH). After the opening ceremony, all competitors will officially enter the competition at hall B02.09. The game will be held for three days - on 22nd, 23rd and 24th of April 2016.

THE REGULATION OF STUDENT CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2016
- The players of each team have 90 minutes to checkmate
- The players compete each other in the order A-B-C of their first and last name, following 9 chess sets of Swiss guideline. Players of the same team who gain at least or more than 50 points at the semi-final chess set won’t compete each other at the final set.
- Ranking individual record for players attended at least 70% of the overall chess sets in the order of the following criteria: bochhclz coefficient, team scores gained by team members, winning sets, the sets holding black chess, winning sets holding black chess, angtagonistic set, the color of chess piece in an angtagonistic set, drawing for ranking the players’ level from 1, 2 and 3.
- Ranking team record by the sum of 3 best players’ individual record of each team. If the record is equal, ranking is considered by the sum of all team players’ individual record – the team players who have higher ranking levels will be the winner.
- Ranking the universities or colleges record by the sum of the players levels of both boys and girls of each university or college, the sum of individual records of boys and girls who have higher level of ranking (if the number of girls is equal or higher than boys, ranking will be based on the sum of girls’ level of ranking). If the results are equal, ranking is based on the numbers of the Gold – Silver – Copper Medals.
HUTECH Taekwondo team has become the winner of the game with one gold medal, one silver medal and 03 copper medals, so we have the right to await for the achievement of HUTECH chess team at 3rd Student Chess Championship 2016.
