After four days of intensive work with the external evaluation team from the Center for Education Accreditation under Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) officially concluded the formal site visit for the quality assessment of three Master’s degree programs, namely Automotive Engineering, Finance and Banking, and Veterinary Medicine, in accordance with Circular No. 04/2025/TT-BGDĐT issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.
In the preliminary report on the evaluation results, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Director of the Center for Educational Testing and Quality Assessment at Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and head of the external evaluation team, emphasized the fundamental shift in modern accreditation practices. He noted that external evaluation is no longer a process of inspection or compliance checking alone. Instead, it has become a collaborative effort between evaluation experts and higher education institutions to identify strengths that can be further developed while also uncovering opportunities for continuous improvement.
Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh presents the preliminary evaluation findings
From a professional perspective, the external evaluation team recognized numerous positive aspects in the implementation and operation of the programs. The curricula are regularly reviewed and updated, learning outcome assessment procedures are transparent and clearly communicated, and the effective use of a modern Learning Management System (LMS) enables students to access knowledge more flexibly. These achievements reflect the serious investment, professionalism, and ongoing dedication of faculty members and researchers in both teaching and research activities.
External evaluation team highlights strengths in program implementation and management
One of the most notable strengths identified by the team was the positive feedback received from employers and alumni. The strong endorsement from recruiting organizations, as well as graduates currently serving in professional roles across various sectors, provides clear evidence of the effectiveness of the programs. This feedback also demonstrates that all three programs are progressing in the right direction, with a strong emphasis on practical application and an increasing ability to meet labor market demands.
Representing the HUTECH Board of Presidents, Dr. Ly Thien Trang, Vice President, expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the external evaluation team for their professionalism, objectivity, and dedication, which ensured the successful completion of the site visit according to schedule. She affirmed that the team's objective perspectives and constructive recommendations provide valuable insights that will help the University better recognize its existing strengths and areas for further development. These findings will serve as a foundation for HUTECH to fulfill its improvement commitments, continuously enhance educational quality, and optimize the academic experience for learners in the years ahead.
