At Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), students are inspired to explore the Korean language and culture through an immersive Korean-themed space.

The Korean space at HUTECH serves as a vibrant hub where students can cultivate their enthusiasm for learning the language and discovering the rich culture of Korea
Vietnam-Korea cultural festival: Experience Korea right on campus
The Korean Cultural Festival is a standout event, an essential part of HUTECH’s Korean space. Held annually, the festival brings Korean culture to life through energetic dance performances, lively music, unique traditional attire, and delicious cuisine.
At the festival, students and visitors have the chance to try on Hanbok, play traditional Samulnori instruments, participate in Vietnamese-Korean folk games, enjoy cultural exchanges, and even perform dynamic K-POP dances. These activities provide an engaging and immersive way for students to deepen their understanding of Korean culture.
The food court, featuring signature Korean dishes, was a crowd favorite at the event. From steaming hot kimchi stew and spicy tteokbokki to flavorful spicy chicken and delicious fish cakes, all dishes were prepared by students themselves. The authentic flavors reflected their love for Korean cuisine and their appreciation for the cultural values embedded in each dish, expanding their global culinary perspective.

Academic competitions offer students a chance to solidify their knowledge
During the festival, students also had the opportunity to enhance their language skills through activities such as exploring the history and significance of the Hangeul alphabet, practicing handwriting and calligraphy, and engaging in Korean-language debates. Beyond classroom learning, these activities provided a fun and interactive way to solidify their knowledge.
International exchange: Developing global mindsets and integration skills
In addition to lively cultural festivals, HUTECH regularly organizes classes and exchange programs with students from Korean universities, offering valuable learning experiences and real-world cultural exposure.
Recently, HUTECH partnered with Tongmyong University and Gwangju Women’s University to host the Global Service Learning 2025 program. Students participated in volunteer activities while engaging in discussions on the cultures and languages of both nations. Through these experiences, they contributed to meaningful community projects, shared unique cultural values, and learned from one another, strengthening their global integration skills.

A unique cultural exchange took place during an interactive program with students from DONGSHIN University (Korea), blending education, aesthetics, traditional customs, and entertainment industries from both countries. Highlights included traditional fan dance classes led by Korean experts and insightful seminars on Korean culture, civilization, and society featuring distinguished professors. These activities provided a deeper understanding of both Vietnamese and Korean cultural identities.
