INTRODUCTION
The Office of Facilities Management is among the oldest offices at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH). Since its establishment, the Office has been responsible for the management of all campus facilities and equipment.
MISSION AND FUNCTIONS
>>> Function:
The Office of Facilities Management has the function of advising and assisting the President on the planning, management, development and use of facilities and assets of the University. The Office is in charge of overseeing procurement, repair and regular maintenance of campus facilities.
>>> Mission:
- Performing construction, retrofit, and repair works on campus buildings and facilities that serve various university functions including administration, teaching and other campus life activities;
- Developing proposals for new investment projects, supervising planning, design and construction activities, monitoring and overseeing the handover process of campus construction projects and equipment procurement according to university regulations;
- Managing the use of facilities, assets, and equipment in supporting the working, teaching and learning conditions of faculty members, staff and students on campus. Performing repair work and providing supplemental/backup facilities and equipment as needed;
- Coordinating with other university’s departments and offices in conducting periodic inventories of physical assets; distributing and coordinating the use of equipment among different campuses to maximize the efficiency of resource use and allocation;
- Responsible for the upkeeping of classrooms, lecture halls, laboratories and other academic facilities on campus. These tasks include locking and unlocking of facilities, arranging teaching and learning equipment; performing custodian duties; maintaining campus grounds, plants, and landscape;
- Providing inputs and participating in the drafting of the official procedures for competitive bidding for procurement, acceptance of deliverables, and liquidation of assets; managing the bidding process for the leasing of unused or underutilized facilities to improve resource efficiency and increase revenue for the University;
- Overseeing the University’s Print Shop and other related works;
- Managing and dispatching university-owned vehicles according to regulations;
- Coordinating with other university’s departments and offices to periodically inspect and monitor conditions related to occupational safety, fire safety and explosion prevention, and preparing for natural disasters and emergency events;
- Managing the Campus Security team;
- Performing other tasks as assigned by the Board of Presidents.
