On July 7, 2015, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sc. Bui Van Ga, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, signed the Decision granting Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) the permission to train Master’s degree students in Biotechnology. After 20 years since its establishment, the progress achieved by HUTECH is solidified by the authorization to implement the ninth graduate program at the master’s degree level.

HUTECH has been well recognized for the quality of its engineering and technology education. Since the enrollment of its inaugural class in 2005, HUTECH’s undergraduate program in Biotechnology has trained thousands of outstanding graduates and highly skilled bioengineers for the workforce. Several student research projects in biotechnology, of which many started out from HUTECH research centers and laboratory facilities, have gone on to win distinguished student research awards. These accomplishments serve as a solid foundation for HUTECH to positively launch the new Master’s degree program in Biotechnology with three areas of specialization, including Microbial - Food Biotechnology, Agricultural Biotechnology, Environmental Biotechnology.

The enrollment period for the inaugural class of the Master’s degree program in Biotechnology will last between July 15 until October 15, 2015. The entrance examination dates will be scheduled between October 31 and November 1, 2015.
