HUTECH STUDENTS TO SAY GOODBYE TO SSEAYP

On the evening of November 14th 2016, The Youth Union and students in the Institute of International Education from HCM city University of Technology (HUTECH), together with Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huyen – Japanese Language Lecturer in the Faculty of Foreign Languages - joined the farewell ceremony to say goodbye to representatives of SSEAYP (The Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program) at Cat Lai Port, District 2, HCMC.


Ms. Pham Thi Thu Huyen (the first left in blue uniform) and HUTECH students The Ship for South East Asian Youth Program is an annual exchange program for the international youths held jointly by the Japanese Government and 10 Southeast Asian countries, with the aims of promoting the mutual understanding, solidarity, and friendship between Japan and these countries. This is one of the most important foreign activities of Vietnamese as well as Japanese and Southeast Asian youths since 1974. The 2016 SSEAYP journey will be going through 5 countries including Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam from October 25th to December 15th, 2016. Within 4 days in HCM city, 329 representatives from the ASEAN countries and Japan left special affection for friends and people in HCM city. This is the second year HUTECH students participated in the exchange program with the representatives of SSEAYP. HUTECH students had interesting moments visiting the Nippon Maru ship and met the representatives of Japan and Southeast Asian to enhance the mutual understanding. In spite of short duration, many beautiful memories and feelings still remained in HUTECH students and their international friends’ hearts. One of the participants, Lai Vu Thoai, class 15DTN03, Faculty of Foreign Languages, said: “It is really difficult for me to express this feeling by words when seeing the ship started to ring and depart. I talked to myself that we, those who continue the journey and those who continue studying in University, would keep the youth’s enthusiastic flame forever”. After the farewell ceremony, the Nippon Maru ship (Japan) continues taking 329 representatives to visit the Asian countries.
