TITLE TRANSLATION

Translation – Interpretation field is challenging not only students in University but also those who are doing it in their daily life. Therefore, with the purpose of helping students of the English Language Faculty in improving the knowledge of Translation – Interpretation field, a seminar titled “Title Translation” was held this morning, Friday, 19 November 2021.
Under the guidance of Mr. Dương Bá Thanh Di, a lecturer of the Faculty, one hundred and eight students in the English Language Faculty and other Faculties had a very useful time via google meet discussing ways to translate titles from English to Vietnamese and vice versa. Many questions were raised to make clear on how to get a meaningful and understandable target text from the source one in terms of grammar and vocabulary when doing the translation.
“One hour and a half was not enough”, said Nguyễn Thị Như Mai and other students. “We would like the Faculty to have more chances like this seminar in order to meet the students’ growing need for future career”.
The seminar was closed with a hope of having more meetings in terms of Translation – Interpretation field.
