Students of the Faculty of English language brush up on their public speaking skills

In the afternoon of November 10, the faculty of English language of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a workshop named"Confident Presenter", providing "tips" to help students become more confident when presenting in front of a crowd.
The workshop attended by Mr. Vo Quoc Dai - Vice Dean of the Faculty, in charge of the role of speaker and Mr. Ho Hai Tien – faculty lecturer, Mr. Ngo Binh Anh Khoa – faculty lecturer.

To start the workshop, Mr. Vo Quoc Dai warmed up the audience with a series of interesting games which are integrated with some methods to help become more confident when standing in front of the crowd..

He also noted that when standing in front of a crowd, we need to speak confidently and combine words with body language. In particular, when giving a presentation or giving a speech in front of many people, it is necessary to grab the audience’s attention and with methods of raising the voice, emphasizing each word, pausing before the information to be noted, and movement direction and eye contact to communicate with people around. These are the key points to attract the audience.
The speaker also pointed out many key points that students need to keep in mind to become more confident in front of a crowd
It is believed that the sharing from Mr. Dai with lots of useful information to strengthen students’ presentation skills has helped them become more confident, which is of great use for studying and working in the future.
