HUTECH English Faculty students get experience from teaching children

This morning (November 14), the Faculty of English, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) organized a workshop with the topic "Teaching Methods" for English language students, majoring in Teaching Methodology. The seminar is part of a series of specialized seminars on the topics of Interpretation and Interpretation (November 13), Teaching Methods (November 14) and Business English (November 28).

Accompanying the students at the seminar "Teaching Methods" were Ms. Pham Quynh Trang - Deputy Head of HUTECH English Department and speaker Dinh Van Thinh - Psychologist, Lecturer of Soft Skills of Southern Youth Center.

Workshop for students specializing in English Teaching Methodology

During the seminar, speaker Dinh Van Thinh and students learned about age psychology - specifically children, the importance of confidence in teaching, how to control emotions in the classroom and communicate with the art of capturing the psychology of children. The talk is illustrated through vivid case examples, helping students to grasp the problem in each case and give out appropriate treatment, thereby useful knowledge for their future English teaching in centers and schools.

In addition, Mr. Dinh Van Thinh also gave the basic mistakes often made in class and suggests ways how to build the image of teachers in the eyes of students - especially for children - such as voice ( intonation, pronunciation), how to have a good standing posture, how to hold a microphone, and how to use gestures while teaching with appropriate facial expressions. In the framework of the seminar, the speaker also analyzed opportunities and challenges in teaching English and gave specific orientations for students if they choose this path after graduation.

Seminar on Interpretation and Translation took place on 13/11

Before that, at the Seminar on Interpretation and Translation (November 13), the final-year students majoring in Translation and Interpretation of the Faculty of English also had the opportunity to learn more about the methods, "tips" of translation, which serves as a necessary preparation for their internship as well as future work. As for students majoring in Business English, the seminar will take place on November 28.
