On September 28th, the Faculty of English Language, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) organized a talk show entitled “Portrait of an ELFer". The seminar was for freshmen of the Faculty so that they would get a picture of what an English-majored student is like and how they have the effective and suitable methods and skills to approach the English language in the next four years of studying.

To begin the talk show, Mr. Huynh Thanh Quang challenged the students to hone up their English and Vietnamese pronunciation skills with some tongue twisters. The students all had a fun time pronouncing the sentences.
As the first guest speaker, Ms. Pham Quynh Trang - Vice Dean of the Faculty shared with students her experience as a freshman years ago and answered some questions about how to prepare for their academic journey better in the future.

Furthermore, they joined in some fun activities to facilitate their teamwork and language skills. The organizers would like to express their sincere thanks to the teachers who participated and led the talk show.
In addition to the talk show, Mr. Vo Quoc Dai and Ms. Tran Kim Hong told their universities stories and gave the students advice on how to prepare themselves for the future jobs which ELFers can pursue.
The talk show continued with interviews with some senior students about their feelings and experience since the very first day they attended Hutech. With the stories told and questions answered by lectures and senior student, new students of the Faculty of English were highly motivated to effectively improve English, and at the same time to conquer four years at the university lecture hall the successfully find a good job in the future.
