Freshmen of the Faculty of Accounting - Finance - Banking participate in career orientation program with experts

On September 25 and 27, freshmen of the Faculty of Accounting - Finance - Banking of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) received a meaningful and warm welcome at the Freshman Orientation program with the participation of experts and industry representatives in guiding students with their career orientation and exploration of study majors.

Taking place on the afternoon of September 25, the first session of the orientation program included the attendance of Ms. Le Nguyen Thuy Mai - Head of External Affairs for Education and Training Association of British Chartered Accountants - ACCA and Ms. Tran Thi Xuan Mui - Deputy Director of Smart Train Training Service Company. The session also welcomed several leaders of the Faculty of Accounting - Finance - Banking, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Tung - Dean, Mr. Chau Van Thuong - Vice Dean and Ms. Tra Thi Thao - Vice Dean, along with lecturers, staff and alumni majoring in Accounting and Auditing.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Tung sent greetings and congratulated all the new students who officially became a member of the HUTECH family. As a way to promote the learning spirit of students, the Faculty awarded the incoming valedictorian of the Accounting major, student Tran Thi Le Chi (class 18DKTB2).

In particular, the meeting with experts was the highlight of the orientation program for many freshmen. Bringing students realistic perspectives on the accounting and auditing career, Ms. Dinh Thu Trang - Auditor of PWC spent a lot of time introducing students to the internship process and seeking employment at large corporations.

As part of the orientation program, students also had a practical discussion with Ms. Le Nguyen Thuy Mai on the topic of professional certifications necessary for accounting and auditing professions. The talk was also the opportunity for students to voice their concerns and questions related current personnel recruitment process at different companies and corporations.

On September 27, the Freshman Orientation Program continued with a meeting for incoming students majoring in Banking and Finance. Along with lecturers of Faculty, the program also included representatives of Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank), representatives of HSC Securities Company, and many alumni of Banking and Finance majors.
