First-year students majoring in E-Commerce and Commercial Business access potential opportunities in promising job markets

On the 7th and 8th of January, the Faculty of Finance and Commerce of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) organized an exchange forum connecting enterprises and first-year students majoring in e-commerce and commercial business, thereby giving students an overview of the potential labor market in the digital age.

The program was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Tung - Dean of Faculty of Finance and Commerce, Mr. Tran Nam Trung - Vice Dean and experienced experts from reputable enterprises such as Tikilive, EQVN, Alanta Power, WPP Communications Co., Ltd., Greenline DP Speedboat Company, Coats Phong Phu Company, DKSH Vietnam, etc,

Speaking at the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Tung said, "Hopefully, the first student cohort of the E-commerce and Commercial Business program at HUTECH will continue to learn and improve themselves to be ready to work at major corporations right after graduation". Through the valuable experiences shared by the experts, students are equipped with the first lessons to prepare themselves for their current study and future careers.

Ms. Luong Thi Chung Thuy (Sales Director of WPP Communications Co., Ltd.) discusses the future human resources needs of the E-Commerce industry
Mr. Le Ba Hai (Director of Atlanta Power Technology Company, UK) notes on the skills, professional attitudes, and subject knowledge required of E-Commerce students
On this occasion, the speakers provided students with an overview of their companies and brief information on the labor market, business strategy as well as specific examples of job positions and business implementation processes at E-commerce sites such as Tiki, Lazada, Shopee, etc. to give HUTECH students an overall picture of the industry.

Specifically, speaker Phan Do Hoai Bao shared the promising career opportunities that E-Commerce students can undertake at a company. Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Cat Van also mapped out career paths for commercial business students with detailed processes and jobs, and reminded them to choose careers with passion, love to both succeed and create positive value for the economy.

At the same time, experts also noted that first-year students would need to enhance their experience to understand themselves, thereby orienting and choosing a career that would best suit them. Mr. Tran Song Hai said that he was very impressed with the dynamic and highly practical university environment at HUTECH in general and the Faculty of Finance and Commerce in particular. He also expected that the cooperation coming out of this seminar would be maintained and expanded, thereby creating many career opportunities for students.

After the presentations and interesting sharing from the guest speakers, students actively took part in the discussion and Q&A portion of the seminar. Each speaker was more than happy to provide feedback on the concern and questions raised by students. Through the valuable lessons and experience provided by these experts, HUTECH students are further motivated in mapping out their study plans and career paths. During their time studying at the university, students will have many opportunities to involve in academic and extracurricular activities through which they will gain valuable knowledge and practical skills as important assets for their future careers.
