On the afternoon of June 12, students of the Faculty of Finance and Commerce, University of Technology (HUTECH) attended the workshop on "Scientific research methods in the field of Economics." This was an opportunity for students to brainstorm new research topics, learn about new different research methodologies and ways of conducting future research projects. The workshop was attended by leaders, lecturers, staff along with students of the Faculty of Finance and Commerce.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Cuc Hong shared with students six basic steps in conducting a research project, including Choosing a research topic, Preparing phase, Developing a research plan, Implementing the research phase, Verifying research results, and last but not least Writing the research paper. Based on this research framework, students would maintain the correct orientation in monitoring the overall research progress and delivering the desired research results.

Ms. Ngo Ngoc Nguyen Thao also provided students with helpful tips on conducting surveys and analyzing data using SPSS data processing software. Given the importance of the data analysis stage in the research process, it is important to ensure students have the skills to reasonably and accurately handling the data collection and processing to yield accurate results and subsequent analysis in their research.
Through the valuable knowledge gained from the workshop, students of the Faculty of Finance and Commerce are further inspired to continue to go above and beyond in their future research endeavors
Thanks to useful instructions on the research approach and implementation of potential research topics from the guest speakers at the workshop, students of the Faculty of Finance and Commerce now have a better understanding of the overall research process and a strong motivation to pursue future research projects of their own.
