The exciting semi-final round of the “Idea-X Civil Engineering Students Innovation 2021” competition

The semi-final round of the IDEA-X 2021 competition takes place in an online format
The semi-final, also called the Engineering round, is the race between 28 contestants including two parts, Knowledge and Model Design. In the Knowledge section, which accounts for 25% of the final score, the contestants have to answer virtually 25 questions on topics covering knowledge about mechanics, English, and social issues.
Accounting for the remaining 75% of the final score, the Model Design component requires the contestants to utilize the Planner 5D mobile phone app to design an apartment with specified dimensions. Students then will have a week to construct and complete their model meeting several criteria, including Function, Form, and Creativity. The five entries with the highest scores in the semi-final will be advance to the final round (scheduled to take place on August 28, 2021).

The organizers of the IDEA-X 2021 competition have also named the winners of several sub-contest categories. In the IDEA-X Photo category, the “Rain and Sunshine” topic entry has been widely received by students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and other departments at HUTECH as well as high school students. In the end, Pham Nhat Vinh Hien from the Faculty of Civil Engineering was named the winner of the “Excellent Shooting Technique” Award. The “Unique Composition” Award and “Best Angle” Award went to Tran Quoc Tuan (Faculty of Civil Engineering) and To Ngoc Chau (Vinh Hung High School), respectively. Especially, the “Most Impressive Photo Collection” Award, called upon Ho Thanh Nam from the Faculty of Civil Engineering as the winner of the top prize.
