On October 19, the Ministry of Education and Training organized a seminar on the current state and solutions to strengthen the quality control of legal education and training. Held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), the seminar was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training along with government officials from relevant Departments and Agencies along with legal experts from nearly 40 educational institutions.
The seminar was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Training, representatives of several departments under the Ministry, the Department of Justice Reform, the Department of Staff Training and Development, SMiC Law Firm, experts from Vietnam Bar Association and nearly 40 educational institutions.

On the side of HUTECH, there was the presence of Prof. Dr. Ho Dac Loc - President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Dinh Nguyen - Vice President and Dr. Le Dinh Luong - Head of Administration.
On behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc delivered the welcoming speech. In particular, he said, “With the increasing number of law training institutions, there is an urgent need to develop a training standard for legal education as a foundation for each institution to build training programs catering to its specific strengths”.
The Deputy Minister also requested experts from universities, departments, law associations, and businesses to contribute many feasible ideas and practical solutions suitable to the current state of legal education in Vietnam, thereby meeting the diverse needs of demands from the labor market and society. Besides, the Deputy Minister also directed the relevant departments under the Ministry to receive comments and inputs from experts to edit and complete the draft.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy approved the draft report of the project proposal "Solutions to strengthen the quality control of legal education and training" with main highlights such as the current state of legal education in Vietnam, the percentage of law schools in Vietnam achieving accreditation, quality assurance, the project's goals until 2025, proposed solutions to control and enhance training quality, etc.

Based on this report, representatives of HUTECH, other universities, and businesses delivered three presentations, focusing on quality assurance. Specifically, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Banh Quoc Tuan presented on the topic of "Assuring the quality of lecturers in legal education". On the other hand, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Dang Hieu discussed potential solutions to improve current legal education through his presentation titled "Some suggestions on the quality assurance of law training programs in Vietnam". Last but not least, Dr. Vu Dang Hai Yen Esq. reported on "Training quality of law training institutions from the perspective of enterprises and some recommendations for improvement".

The delegates actively discussed and contributed many ideas, thereby serving as a basis for the Ministry of Education and Training to issue standards to improve the quality of current law training programs at educational institutions in Vietnam.
