Freshmen of the Faculty of English Language Excited to “Say Hi” to the HUTECH Family

This morning (10/9), the Faculty of English Language at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held the online event to Welcome the Freshmen on Google Meet. Here, a lot of useful and important information was conveyed to the freshmen.

The event was joined by Dr. Nguyen Hoang Xuan Viet – the Vice-Dean of HUTECH, Huynh Ngoc Anh, MA – the Head of the Office of Student Affairs, Nguyen Gia Huy, MA – the Secretary of the Youth Union of HUTECH. Representatives from the Faculty of English Language incuded Dr. Nguyen Thi Kieu Thu – the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Le Van Tuyen – Vice-Dean, Dr. Tran Quoc Thao – Vice-Dean, Pham Quynh Trang, MA – Vice-Dean, and other lecturers and staff members of the Faculty.

At the start of the event, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoang welcomed and shared some heart-felt advice with the Freshmen, “The Faculty of English Language will always provide the best conditions for you to study in and to optimally improve your language skills. This will be your best support for you in your future careers.”

Additionally, the Dean of the Faculty of English Language – Dr. Nguyen Thi Kieu Thu – also motivated the Freshmen, “English is becoming more and more important in each person’s developmental journey, and it offers young people a lot of career opportunities. Focus on your study, improve your ability to self-study, and make yourselves stand out in the job market!”

At this event, Dr. Tran Quoc Thao shared a lot of useful and essential information on Training Program, regulations, notes on learning a second language, extracurricular activities, etc., with the Freshmen. The academic contests, students’ activities related to art, physical education, and community activities, along with club activities organized by HUTECH Interpretation and Translation Club (HIT), HUTECH English Club (HEC), and English Language Research Club ELRC) were also introduced to the students.

Replying to the warm welcome from the Faculty of English Language, the Freshmen also enthusiastically sent their greetings and responses through a variety of interactive activities, Quizizz questions to learn more about HUTECH and the Faculty, and various online group-based activities. Also, the students had the opportunity to share their thoughts and feelings, to interact with the teachers during their first meeting with each other to get to know the people that will join them in their academic journey for the upcoming university years.

With the air of excitement and enthusiasm on the first day of their university years, the Freshmen of the Faculty of English Language are ready for their journey of self-development at HUTECH. Hopefully, the lecturers’ passion along with the students’ determination will lead to wonderful achievements for the Faculty of English Language and for HUTECH in general.
