HUTECH students win big at the 2018 Student Research Award

On October 27th, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) was delighted to receive the exciting news about the major wins by its students and lecturers at the 2018 “Student Research Award” and “Science and Technology Award for Young Lecturers in Higher Education Institutions” organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.

In this occasion, HUTECH Institute of Applied Sciences has also been honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Education and Training for outstanding achievements in organizing student research activities in 2018. It is the third year in a row that the Institute is recognized for the sustained efforts of its faculty members and students.

Overall, HUTECH has placed second among the university delegations in this year’s research competition. This achievement further attests to the commitment of HUTECH in supporting student research and their journeys of scientific exploration. HUTECH achieves top prizes at the 2018 Student Research Award organized by the Ministry of Education and Training
At the Closing and Awarding Ceremony of the 2018 Student Research Award, HUTECH students were recognized for their outstanding achievement by winning 01 First Prize, 03 Second Prizes, 02 Third Prizes, and 04 Consolation Prizes. In particular, the research project titled, “Obtaining astaxanthin-rich protein powder from discarded tiger prawn heads, Penaeus monodon, by using a combination of Alcalase LFG 2.4 1128 and Lipase L3126,” by the student group from the Institute of Applied Sciences was highly regarded for its original research idea and practical value.
