“Dialogue with the CEO” March 2021: The President of Vietnam Tourism Association engages in a dialogue with "future colleagues" at HUTECH

On March 23, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tho - Chairman of Vietnam Tourism Association and Dr. Phan Thanh Long - General Director of Saigon Rex Hotel met with HUTECH students in an open exchange as part of the March 2021 “Dialogue with CEO” program at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH).
The program was organized by HUTECH Center for Corporate Relations in collaboration with the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management with the participation of leaders of the university. The program also welcomed the presence of the General Director of HAPPY Dental Co., Ltd, the main sponsor of the event, and representatives of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF).

Revolving around the topic "Road to success", the speakers shared with students their journey in learning and striving from the initial jobs as servers, receptionists, housekeeping staff to senior management positions with major accomplishments along the way.

Speakers share the path to success with HUTECH students.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Tho believes that learning and doing is the only way to success. Even if you achieve success, you should not stop learning and absorbing knowledge to keep up with the pace of changes in the world. The speaker encouraged students to have a positive attitude in learning; gain practical experience through a wide range of activities at the university, the community, part-time jobs; actively improve foreign language skills to confidently integrate into the global community.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Tho believes that the labor market in the tourism industry will have a strong comeback after the pandemic, opening up many opportunities for HUTECH students
Dr. Phan Thanh Long advises young people to promote teamwork skills from their studies at the university that will contribute positively to their work in the future
The potential of the tourism industry is enormous. Although Vietnam is not exceptional to the impact of the pandemic, it still has achieved significant growth figures. The current generation of university students is the future workforce in heeding the industry’s recovery and development in the post-Covid-19 period.
