Taking place on the morning of October 28, the symposium on English listening skills - "A Game Changer For Your Ears" was led by MA. Huynh Thanh Quang - Lecturer in English Department. The students had the opportunity to warm up with the challenge "A Genius Translator", with the request based on the given phonetic transcriptions to guess the meaning of the whole sentence and arrange it into a complete sentence.

 Coming to the main content of the seminar - “Micro Listening”, MA. Huynh Thanh Quang introduces students to some important notes to enhance listening skills, such as focusing on the situation, making judgments based on the attitude of the communicator, and based on body language (direct communication cases). The speaker also pointed out effective learning strategies directly (accepting based on existing background knowledge and perceiving problems to transform into new knowledge) or indirectly (accepting based on planning scientific study, arrange and summarize content to build their own foundation of knowledge), not only to improve listening skills and learn well the Listening modules but also to learn English well in general.

Continuing the series of learning-oriented activities for students is the second foreign language consultation workshop for students from course 2021 with the participation of MA. Pham Quynh Trang - Vice Dean of English Department and lecturers teaching second foreign languages (including French - Japanese - Chinese - Korean languages). This is an opportunity for new students who are still wondering about the second foreign language to learn more about the characteristics of each language to choose the foreign language that best suits their forte and orientation, improving efficiency in learning second foreign language and can use this foreign language in parallel with English in future work.

Seminar on "Working culture in multinational corporations" (October 29)
