HUTECH and members of Erasmus+ EVENT project officially launch the Career Portal for students and recent graduates

On June 23, representatives of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) participated in the final conference and dissemination webinar in concluding the “European - Vietnamese Collaboration on Graduate Employment” (EVENT) project funded by the Erasmus+ Program.
 
Representing HUTECH was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Xuan Lam - Vice President of the University along with leaders of several departments directly involved in the project.

The goal of the final conference was to review the implementation of the EVENT project since it was officially launched in January 2017 and ended in April 2020. With nearly 1 million euros supported by the Eramus+ program, HUTECH together with other university members of the project has promoted many activities in enabling practical solutions to the employability problems facing students and recent graduates.

Specifically, HUTECH and other member universities have conducted activities and delivered concrete results in several work packages within the scope of the EVENT project. Among these, the project members carried out surveys on the employment status of recent graduates from their respective institutions. The results can be found in the Tracer Study and related reports. With the funding from Erasmus+, member universities also purchased equipment for their newly established Career Center aiming to promote the training and development of soft skills for students. Particularly, the launching of the Career and Employment Support Portalwill serve as a trusted destination helping students in their job search.

 As one of the five Vietnamese universities participating in the project, HUTECH was responsible for coordinating the Quality Assurance work package to ensure the quality of the overall project tasks and activities performed by its members while monitoring the project progress and deliverables according to the set objectives.

The EVENT project, also known as “Strengthening higher education capacity, promoting student output”, is one of several key EU-funded projects under the scope of the Eramus+ program. The project includes nine member universities from Europe and Vietnam, including Uppsala University (Sweden), KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), University of Valencia (Spain), University of Groningen (Netherlands), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology  (HUTECH), Hanoi University of Industry, Hue University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, and National Economics University.
