HUTECH Logistics & supply chain management students explore “4.0 trend” with business leaders

On the morning of April 20, the Institute of Engineering of Ho Chi Minh University of Technology (HUTECH) organized a seminar titled “Development trends and career opportunities in the field of Logistics in the 4.0 Technology era” with the participation of leaders of reputable enterprises in the field of Transportation and Logistics.
The conference takes place with the participation of leaders of well-known freight transport enterprises
Particularly, the seminar was attended by Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nhat Lai - Managing Director of World Link Education Co., Ltd.; Mr. Le Thanh Tien - Deputy Director of Maritime Services and Logistics of VMARINE J.S.C Marine Trading and Services Joint Stock Company; Mr. Lam Quan Thien - Head of Legal and Safety Department of Giang Nam Logistics Joint Stock Company; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hung - Vice Director of HUTECH Institute of Engineering.
In his opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hung said, “Today’s seminar will be a valuable opportunity for students in the Logistics & Supply Chain Management program to learn about industry-specific experiences and understand what needs to be prepared for working at these enterprises in the future.”

At the workshop, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nhat Lai outlined the elements creating values for an existing logistics enterprise such as technology application, competitive prices, service quality, reliability, customer support policies, and brands. In terms of the technological requirements in the 4.0 era, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nhat Lai introduced HUTECH students to the remarkable development trends of the industry such as increasing the application of modern technology, online trading and mergers, developing cold supply chains, and the significant investment from the State.

Within the framework of the program, HUTECH students had the opportunity to raise their questions with business representatives and receive enthusiastic answers from the speakers of the seminar. Mr. Le Thanh Tien also introduced HUTECH students to several career opportunities at VMARINE J.S.C Maritime Services Trading Joint Stock Company, whereas Mr. Lam Quan Thien stated the company paid special attention to the importance of professionalism and soft skills in addition to the technical knowledge.
