On January 15, 2015, The Ministry of Education and Training in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, Central Executive Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized the awarding ceremony of the 2014 Vietnamese Young Science Talents Award.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Pham Van Linh - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Commission, Mr. Bui Van Ga - Deputy Minister of Education and Training, Mr. Pham Cong Tac - Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Tran Viet Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and representatives of universities and institutes.
At the awarding ceremony, the topic "Research on the effects of weight loss, anti-lipidemia and blood sugar reduction ability of mango and guava leaves on experimental model" by a group of students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) excellently won the second prize. The research is the work of students, including Bui Van Chung, Trinh Thi Kieu Oanh, Bui Thanh Cuong, Le Do Anh Thi, Huynh Hong Ngoc, from the Faculty of Biotechnology - Food - Environment.
In addition, a group of students from the Faculty of Mechanical - Electrical - Electronics Engineering including Truong Ngoc Quyen, Hoang Quang Liem, Nguyen Thanh Duy also won the third prize with the topic "Design and manufacture of 3D printers". Last but not least was the consolation prize in the field of Information Technology for the topic "Air traffic control software" by Le Van Dinh of the Faculty of Information Technology.

Awarding 229 research topics in many different fields, including natural sciences, social sciences & humanities, technical sciences, biotechnology, etc.
The "Vietnamese Young Science Talent" is an award for projects participating in the "Student Research Award". In 2014, 229/293 topics were awarded, including 11 first prizes, 32 second prizes, 78 third prizes and 108 consolation prizes from many fields such as natural sciences, social sciences & humanities, science and technology, agriculture, biotechnology, medicine, etc. attracting the participation of hundreds of students across the country.
Mr. Bui Van Ga - Deputy Minister of Education and Training - speaks at the awarding ceremony to commend and recognize the achievements of the students.
These awards not only recognize the efforts of the students but also affirm the strength of scientific research and the quality of training of HUTECH over time. These accomplishments become the forces for generations of students to continue striving, creating and conquering scientific knowledge in the future.
