CENTER FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE

INTRODUCTION
The Center for Quality Assurance was established under Decision No. 440/QD-ĐKC signed on December 4th, 2006 by the University’s President. After undergoing substantial reorganization and changes made to its mission and functions, the office was officially renamed the Center for Quality Assurance upon the separation from the former Department of Science, Technology and Quality Assurance in 2017. 

 

MISSION AND FUNCTIONS

>>> Functions:

- Advising and assisting the University’s President in the direct organization and management of the university operations according to ISO 9001 standards;

- Conduct internal survey and self-assessment on the quality of academic programs and training;

- Coordinating activities related to quality assessment and education accreditation at the academic program and institution level according to both national (i.e., Ministry of Education and Training) and international standards.

 

>>> Mission:

- Quality management according to ISO 9001 standard:

  • Controlling, updating, and maintaining the quality management system according to ISO 9001:2015;
  • Advising the University’s President in setting the Quality Objectives and annual implementation plan to achieve these Quality Objectives; monitoring the progress of these plans for the university and all departments/ faculties;
  • Conduct periodic internal quality assessments all departments and faculties; coordinating with Vietnam Certification Center (QUACERT) to perform external quality assessment of all applicable units;
  • Checking and resolving non-conformance issues; preventing and minimizing the potential occurrence of new non-conformance issues;
  • Making periodic reports to the university leadership on the quality management system.
 

- Performing internal survey and self-assessment on the quality of education and training: 

  • Updating standards related to quality assessment and accreditation in the field of education;
  • Applying education quality and accreditation standards to the implementation of academic programs and training activities of the university; supporting all departments and faculties in accreditation activities;
  • Conducting annual self-assessment and performing activities according to the education accreditation procedures;
  • Collecting, storing and updating relevant information and evidence according to the accreditation criteria at the university and department level; 
  • Proposing solutions for quality improvement based on the results of internal and external assessment;
  • Surveying stakeholder opinions on the quality of education provided by the university; using survey results for quality improvement.
 

- Education quality assessment and accreditation according to national and international standards:

  • Institution level:
  1. Conducting self-assessment on the quality of education provided by the university according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training;
  2. Registering and applying for quality accreditation at the institution level according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training;
  3. Monitoring post-accreditation quality improvement measures taken by individual departments and faculties.
  • Training program level:
  1. Researching and updating the criteria system of the assessment of training programs according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training; proposing the selection of assessment criteria;
  2. Conducting internal assessments of training programs according to international standards (AUN-QA) and the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training;
  3. Registering and applying for AUN-QA assessments at the program.
