The Office of External and Public Relations was established under Decision No. 356/QD-DKC of the President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) on May 1st, 2010, formerly part of the Office of Admissions Consultancy and Communication. Starting on February 1st, 2021, in order to consolidate and specialize the work of each functional unit, the former office was divided into two independent units. The Office of External and Public Relations continues to be responsible for overseeing all university’s official publications, communication, and media. At the same time, the Office also implements marketing strategies and promotional activities that aim to improve recognition and perception of the University’s brand image. 




>>> Functions:

- Advising and assisting the Board of Presidents and acting as the head unit in charge of developing plans and implementing strategies to disseminate information, develop and promote HUTECH’s brand;

- Proposing strategies to increase brand recognition in the current trend of increasing university autonomy aligning with the University's overall strategic goals;

- Constructing, promoting, and developing HUTECH’s brand while fostering a good relationship between the University and the society.


>>> Mission:

- Internal communication:

  • Communicating and propagating ideas, good ethics, healthy lifestyles to students
  • Posting announcements related to University's guidelines, policies, and regulations to students
  • Publishing news and reports on campus-wide and departmental events and activities on the University’s official communication channels 

- Managing, formulating, and developing content to be published on various communication channels:

  • Managing content of HUTECH’s website, fan page, Youtube channel, and subpages
  • Developing content development plans and strategies for various communication channels
  • Producing multimedia content (e.g., images, video clips, etc.) to be used for communication, brand promotion, admissions purposes
  • Responsible for photographing and filming campus events, processing and editing footage for publication
  • Developing scripts for videos and documentaries

- Marketing:

  • Promoting HUTECH's image and brand to the community
  • Building brand development strategies supporting the University’s admissions activities 
  • Connecting and responding to concerns of students through different online advising channels

- Press communication:

  • Responsible for posting advertisements in newspapers, admissions – career orientation guidebook
  • Responsible for the publication of PR articles on news websites
  • Maintaining relationships, providing information, and communicating with the press and media agencies

- Design brand identity :

  • Designing and developing HUTECH’s branding identity guidelines
  • Designing manuals, handbooks, and other publications
  • Designing products for admissions and communication activities of the University and its departments/ faculties
  • Designing campus’s building signages and exterior graphics

- Drafting and compiling publications:

  • Writing and developing the content of publications used for admissions events, new students orientations, quality accreditation, important university anniversaries, and official celebrations.
