On the morning of September 25, the Faculty of English Language, Ho Chi Minh City City University of Technology (HUTECH) held the online closing ceremony of the student scientific research movement for the 2020-2021 academic year and launched the movement for the 2021-2022 academic year.
The program was attended by leaders of the Faculty of English Language, the Executive Board of the English Language Research Club (ELRC) as well as many students of the Faculty.

Dr. Tran Quoc Thao said, "Student scientific research activities of the Faculty of English achieved great success in the last academic year highlighting the ability, efforts, and passion for research of students".
Specifically, the Faculty of English Language had 12 scientific articles published in the proceedings of “HUTECH Student Research Conference 2021", of which one research project was selected to enter the Euréka Student Research Award.

The Faculty awards 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, and 2 Third Prizes for outstanding faculty-level student research projects
Within the framework of the program, the Faculty of English Language also awarded the first prize of the faculty-level student research for the project titled "Motivations and learning goals of English language students" by a group of students, including Pham Thi Phuong Dung, Pham Kieu Gia Han, Le Quoc Phuong, Vo Thi Thanh Hang. Besides, the Faculty awarded 2 Second prizes, 2 Third prizes and 7 Consolation prizes to other excellent research topics. On this occasion, the lecturers also highlighted some typical research topics, thereby giving practical experiences for students to carry out their research in the future.

Answering questions from students about the research process
During the program, the scientific research movement for the 2021-2022 academic year was also officially launched for the Faculty of English Language students. The lecturers took this opportunity to guide students on how to choose and register for research topics, the benefits of participating in scientific research, how to determine the specific scope of research, reference sources at seminars organized by the ELRC Club, etc. Through this program, students also had the opportunity to raise questions about reference materials, formatting of research papers, and other issues related to conducting research to further receive guidance and answers from the lecturers of the Faculty.
