HUTECH student, Huynh Thi Thuy Duy, from the Faculty of Biotechnology, Food, and Environment recently won the Consolation Prize in the “Young Achievers' Safe Food Awards”.

This year’s contest included the participation of nine universities from Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces with relevant academic programs in the field of Food Technology. Among these, HUTECH entered the contest with two food products, namely the "Vegetarian Beef Raggie from Abalone Mushroom" and the "Germinated Brown Rice Powder", which were among the top ten finalists. These finished products were created by HUTECH student, Huynh Thi Thuy Duy, under the instruction of Dr. Nguyen Le Ha. During the Finals round, Thuy Duy had to make a ten-minute presentation in English about her products that received praises from the judges for her originality and quality of the finished products. These products finally received the Consolation Prize.

The above encouraging results highlight the leading position of HUTECH in training future young talents and high-quality graduates for the food industry. Notably, both the "Vegetarian Beef Raggie from Abalone Mushroom" and the "Germinated Brown Rice Powder" products have attracted a considerable amount of interest from many companies during their display at the Fi Vietnam 2015 international exhibition.
