From March to May 2026, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) made a strong impression through its active involvement in organizing and co-organizing large-scale academic conferences both domestically and internationally. Spanning fields such as technology, engineering, health sciences, social sciences, languages, and student research, these events demonstrate HUTECH’s increasingly prominent role within regional and global academic networks.
Co-organizing the Innovation Congress (ICON) and the International Research Conference on Pharmaceutical and Allied Sciences 3.0 (IRCPAS 3.0) in Malaysia
A key highlight of this period was HUTECH’s participation in and co-organization of the Innovation Congress (ICON) and the International Research Conference on Pharmaceutical and Allied Sciences 3.0 (IRCPAS 3.0), held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 26–28 March.
The conference was jointly organized by the Asia-Pacific Consortium of Researchers and Educators (APCORE), UCSI University, and several higher education institutions and research organizations across the region. It brought together academics, researchers, scientists, and industry experts from various countries throughout the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
Notably, HUTECH was the only Vietnamese institution among 16 participating educational and research organizations from Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, China, India, and the United Kingdom. This participation further reflects the University’s growing recognition within international academic networks.
Under the theme “Technological Disruption, Innovation Ethics and Future of Human-AI Co-evolution,” the conference addressed globally relevant issues such as AI governance, digital equity, green transformation, and ethics in biomedical research. Through plenary sessions, thematic discussions, and networking activities, HUTECH not only contributed to scholarly dialogue but also expanded its partnerships with international universities and research institutions.

In addition to conference activities, the HUTECH delegation visited and worked with UCSI University, SEGi University, and Sunway University to explore educational models, research ecosystems, and future opportunities for faculty and student exchanges, collaborative research, and international academic programs.

Advancing Academic Dialogue in Social Sciences and Language Studies
Building on its international engagement, HUTECH partnered with Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) to successfully organize the National Conference on Social Sciences and Language Studies 2026 on 2 April.
Against the backdrop of rapid advancements in digital technology and artificial intelligence, the conference served as an important forum for scholars to discuss emerging challenges and opportunities in social sciences, education, language studies, and interdisciplinary research.
The conference received 172 full papers from 35 universities and research institutions in Vietnam and abroad. Following a rigorous review process, 145 papers were selected for publication in the conference proceedings, reflecting both academic quality and diversity of research perspectives.

One of the conference’s notable achievements was the adoption of a Conference Submission System, enabling the entire submission, review, and revision process to be conducted digitally. Combined with a double-blind peer-review model, this approach enhanced academic quality and aligned the conference with international standards in scholarly publishing.
Plenary sessions and six thematic tracks featured discussions on language education for sustainable development, cultural values in the digital era, interdisciplinary approaches in social sciences, and sports management in the context of global integration. More than 40 presentations and over 20 research posters contributed to a dynamic academic environment that fostered professional exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Cultivating a Research Culture Among Learners
While ICON–IRCPAS 3.0 highlighted HUTECH’s international engagement and the National Conference on Social Sciences and Language Studies reinforced its role in facilitating domestic scholarly exchange, the HUTECH Conference for Young Scientists on Sustainable Development Goals, held on 14 May, showcased the University’s commitment to building a vibrant research culture among its learners.
The conference attracted an impressive 814 submissions from 24 faculties and institutes within and beyond HUTECH. Following a rigorous evaluation process, 197 outstanding papers were selected for publication in an ISBN-registered proceedings volume, while more than 530 additional papers were included in the conference proceedings.

Research topics covered a broad range of disciplines, including artificial intelligence, data science, automotive engineering, robotics, biotechnology, social sciences, economics, communications, law, and language studies. Many projects demonstrated strong practical relevance and addressed emerging trends such as AI applications in healthcare, chatbot-assisted mental health support, autonomous vehicles, IoT, blockchain technologies, ESG, and green finance.
The conference also featured 32 specialized parallel sessions across two major areas: Engineering, Technology and Life Sciences; and Economics and Social Sciences. Beyond providing a platform for research dissemination, the event enabled students, postgraduate learners, and early-career researchers to strengthen their academic skills, critical thinking abilities, and capacity to address real-world challenges through research.
