With her project, “Production and distribution of dried candied rambutan,” Nguyen Thi Thuy Tien, a student majoring in Food Technology at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) has been selected among the Top 10 best projects of the 2017 Luong Van Can Talent Award.
Established in 2011, Luong Van Can Talent Award is a contest founded by The Saigon Entrepreneur Newspaper with the participation of several enterprises and experts in many different fields.

After four rounds of competition, the Top 10 best projects were selected among project entries from nearly 1,000 students from leading universities in Vietnam.
Representing HUTECH in the Top 10 is Nguyen Thi Thuy Tien with the project titled “Production and distribution of dried candied rambutan.” Thuy Tien's project receives many praises from the judges’ panel for its high social value in solving the dilemma facing many Vietnamese farmers and the agricultural sector as a whole in which prices increase during poor harvest and decrease during a good harvest. Besides, solutions have also been proposed by Thuy Tien in improving the quality and economic value of the rambutan fruit in Vietnam.

Also in this year’s competition, the project titled “HVB Herbal Drink” by the group of students including Tran Thi Dieu Hanh, Trinh Thanh Vu and Truong Quoc Bao from the Faculty of Business Administration is named among the Top 27 projects. Recognized for these notable accomplishments in academics and research, HUTECH students are making significant contributions in the field of entrepreneurship which is viewed as a popular path for students to affirm themselves in the period of integration and globalization.
