I. INTRODUCTION
1. OVERVIEW
The Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS) was established on August 30, 2016 under Decision No. 35/QD-HDQT. The predecessor of the IPS was the Department of Science Management - Postgraduate Studies of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) established on February 16, 2009 with one training major, Master of Environmental Engineering. In 2013, the Institute continued to be entrusted with the task of training PhDs in Electrical Engineering. Up to now, the IPS is training 16 Master's majors in the fields of engineering - technology, economics - management, marketing - law - English language and most recently, master of Veterinary Medicine; along with 03 PhD majors: Electrical Engineering, Business Administration and Information Technology.

From the very first days until now, the Institute has gathered the participation in teaching and guiding research of a team of lecturers and scientists with high academic titles and degrees, including 14 Professors, 47 Associate Professors, 289 Doctors of Science and PhDs. In addition, the Institute also invites prestigious lecturers and scientists with in-depth experience in each field who are currently working at international and domestic schools and institutes to provide learners with academic and practical knowledge.

To meet the needs of continuous learning, research and development of the whole HUTECH's education in general, the IPS constantly supplements and improves the teaching staff, facilities and modern learning resources. The cooperation of scientists, leading experts and practical in-depth learning and research activities also contributes significantly to the specialization of qualifications at HUTECH, affirming the quality of training and teaching, providing abundant knowledge to continue to accompany postgraduate students, high-quality human resources for society and businesses. At the IPS, master and PhD students are trained and researched with a modern teaching and learning model: (1) Facilities, techniques and training programs are updated, ensuring the best for learning and research with a system of laboratories - practice, modern experimental centers meeting international standards; (2) Training programs have been and are being accredited by domestic and foreign accreditation centers; (3) Advanced teaching methods help students and postgraduates maximize their creativity, independent research, discovery and solution of practical technical - technological, economic - social problems; (4) Multimedia library with tens of thousands of reference documents through the inter-library system and a list of prestigious journals that can be accessed; (5) Flexible training time, suitable for working people.

Not only receiving the trust and confidence of many generations of students, the IPS not only trains high-quality human resources for the school but is also honored to be a strategic partner in training and developing human resources for prestigious agencies and enterprises at home and abroad. Over the years, more and more students choose the Institute as their "companion" to continue to improve their professional qualifications, expand their career advancement opportunities, and conquer new heights of knowledge in the era of digital economy and global circular economy, which requires skills such as critical thinking, creative thinking, solving complex problems, entrepreneurial thinking, practical thinking, research skills, and article writing skills. The Institute also regularly provides students with skills through seminars, scientific conferences, seminars, field trips - internships, or subjects such as scientific research, research topics, and practical topics.
