HUTECH announces PhD Admissions – 2025 Intake (Second Round)​

2. Program Format and Duration

- Format: Full-time, on-campus.

- Duration: 3 years for candidates with a Master's degree; 4 years for candidates with a Bachelor's degree.

3. Eligibility and Admission Requirements

3.1. General Requirements:

a) Hold a Master’s degree or an excellent Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or a Level 7 qualification under the Vietnamese National Qualification Framework in a specialized field aligned with the intended PhD program.

b) Meet entry requirements in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Training’s standards and the specific PhD program.

c) Have research experience demonstrated through a research-oriented Master’s thesis; or published scientific papers/reports; or at least two years of experience (24 months or more) as a lecturer or researcher at a university or scientific institution.

d) Submit a draft research proposal and a study plan for the full course.

3.2. Applicants who are Vietnamese citizens must meet the foreign language proficiency requirements, which can be demonstrated by one of the following diplomas or certificates:

a) A university degree (or higher) delivered in a foreign language, either by an international institution, a Vietnamese branch of such institution, or a Vietnamese institution using a foreign language as the medium of instruction.

b) A university degree in a foreign language discipline granted by a Vietnamese institution.

c) A valid language certificate equivalent to level 4 (according to Vietnam’s 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework), issued or recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training.

3.3. International applicants if enrolling in a Vietnamese-taught program must provide a Vietnamese language certificate of level 4 or higher (based on the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework for Foreigners). A second foreign language certificate may also be required unless the applicant is a native speaker of the language used in the PhD program.

4. Application Documents

4.1. Application form (per template)

4.2. Academic CV and personal resume (per template);

4.3. Certified copies of diplomas and certificates:

4.3.1. Bachelor's degree and transcript;

4.3.2. Master's degree and transcript;

4.3.3. Valid foreign language certificate;

4.3.4. Other relevant degrees/certificates (if any).

Degrees and transcripts issued by foreign institutions must be translated, notarized, and recognized according to current regulations.

4.4. Proof of research experience, as specified in Section 3.1, must include 6 copies of published scientific works (compiled and titled on the cover page).

- For journal articles: copies of cover page, table of contents, and full article.

- For research projects: copies of decision/contract, acceptance report, and project summary (for participants, verification from the principal investigator is required).

- Confirmation of work experience.

- Master's thesis (for research-oriented Master’s programs)

4.5. One original and five copies of recommendation letters from at least one scientist holding the title of Professor, Associate Professor, or the academic degree of Doctor of Science or PhD, who has worked professionally with the applicant and understands their proposed research field;

4.6. Six copies of the research proposal;

4.7. Four 3x4 cm photos;

4.8. Written commitment to academic, research, and financial obligations;

4.9. Medical certificate;

4.10. Letter of Acceptance from the prospective PhD supervisor (per template);

4.11. Supervisor’s academic CV (per template)

5. Application Timeline and Selection

- Application deadline: From the date of this announcement to September 13, 2025

- Proposal defense (tentative): October 1–10, 2025

- Results announcement (tentative): October 14, 2025

- Enrollment (tentative): October 16–30, 2025

- Opening ceremony (tentative): November 1, 2025

6. Application processing fee: VND 6,200,000

7. Tuition and Enrollment Fee: Tuition fee: VND 192,000,000 for the entire program (90 credits), payable per semester across 6 semesters; Enrollment fee: VND 1.000.000
