HUTECH’s commitment to SDG 5 (Gender Equality) is reflected in its efforts to promote inclusion, equal opportunity, leadership development, and a safe and respectful campus environment for students, faculty, and staff. The University’s approach is grounded in its broader commitment to inclusion, safety, and equal opportunity, as reflected in the Sustainable Development Policy 2026–2030.
This commitment is visible through awareness-raising, student support, and international collaboration. In 2025, HUTECH joined the Gender Equality Partnership Programme: Addressing Women’s Underrepresentation in Leadership, funded by the British Council and implemented with the University of Hertfordshire (UK) and Vietnamese partner institutions. Running from March 2025 to March 2026, the programme includes a Women and Leadership MOOC, a series of workshops, and an international support network, with a target of at least 1,000 women completing the course.
At the campus level, HUTECH also promotes gender awareness and safer learning environments through student-facing activities on gender equality, gender-based violence prevention, and reproductive health awareness. These include the HUTECH Beside You programme on Gender Equality and Gender-based Violence Prevention in December 2024, as well as other educational activities that help students better understand gender roles, stereotypes, and respectful conduct.
