143 HUTECH students were officially admitted to the Youth Union at the meeting to celebrate the 130th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh

On May 19, 2020, Youth Union - Student Union of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held the 130th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2020), together with the Ceremony of Admitting Youth Union Members and awarding the title of "Advanced youths following Uncle Ho’s teachings" of academic year 2019-2020.
 
The event had the participation of Dr. Kieu Tuan - Secretary of HUTECH Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hoang Viet - Vice President; Mr. Nguyen Cong Mau - Vice Secretary of HUTECH Party Committee; Mr. Tran Huu Xuan Thu - Vice President of HUTECH Trade Union; Mr. Huynh Ngoc Anh - Head of Student Affairs Office; and Mr. Nguyen Gia Huy - Secretary of HUTECH Youth Union; together with students who achieved the title of "Advanced youths following Uncle Ho’s teachings", and students who were officially admitted to the Youth Union.

In the atmosphere of celebrating the 130th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, HUTECH representatives and students had the opportunity to go back in time, review documentary films about the life of the Great Father of the nation, thereby learning, following his ideology and morality, in order to perfect themselves and actively taking part in national construction and development.

Also in the atmosphere of the anniversary, 143 excellent students - youths of HUTECH were admitted to the Youth Union, officially becoming Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union members. Among them, 20 new members with the best achievements were honored to be conferred resolutions and were admitted directly at the ceremony.
 
Congratulating the new Youth Union members, Dr. Kieu Tuan shared: “In every HUTECH student, there is a fire and you who stand in the ranks of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union today are those who have found that fire. Please keep and light the fire even brighter to get ready for the journey full of challenges and expectations! ”.

Within the framework of the event, the two most representative submissions of the contest "Advanced youths following Uncle Ho’s teachings" were chosen to be presented directly at the ceremony. With the motto "HUTECH youth follow in His footsteps", the two models "Solutions to guide students to follow Uncle Ho's teachings to improve self-study spirit" by Pham Kha Vy - Member of the Secretariat of the HUTECH Student Association, and "Solutions to attract students to participate in volunteer activities" by Le Tran Lan Anh - Vice Secretary of Vietnam - Japan Institute of Technology (VJIT) Youth Union, have brought many new solutions and possible results for HUTECH student activities and movements in the future.

The event ended in the excitement of the students with the motivations from the lessons of President Ho Chi Minh, the enthusiastic instructions from Dr. Kieu Tuan and generations of Youth Union members of HUTECH. From these determinations, HUTECH's “fire” will continue to spread and shine in every student so that they can continue to rise up in learning, research activities, and thus affirming the dynamism, creation of HUTECH youth in the present and the future.
