Ma Phu Cuong wins the “Best Student Startup Project Award” at Vietnam Startup Wheel 2019

Participating in the national startup competition, Vietnam Startup Wheel 2019, Ma Phu Cuong, who is a current student of HUTECH Institute of Applied Sciences, has successfully won the “Best Student Startup Project Award” with the project “Duc Thuan Dragon Fruit - Food of the Dragon.”

Overcoming many rounds of competition, the project “Duc Thuan Dragon Fruit - Food of the Dragon” made a very strong impression on the judges. The 30,000,000 VND prize of the “Best Student Startup Project Award” was a worthy achievement for the creativity, passion, and effort of Phu Cuong.
Based on scientifically sound production methods, the dragon fruit jam product aims to serve the culinary needs of everyday Vietnamese people.
At the exhibition of Startup Wheel 2019 event, among 200 stalls, Phu Cuong’s project stood out among the many visitors. “A few investors sent their invitation to become the wholesaler of the product. Especially, a foreign customer had ordered 1000 jars of Duc Thuan dragon fruit jam after having a taste test of the product” Phu Cuong shared excitedly.

With nearly 1,800 project entries throughout Vietnam and over 100 project submissions from overseas, these numbers speak for the impressive scope of the Startup Wheel 2019 competition. Winning the award at this year’s contest will be the motivation and firm launching pad for Phu Cuong in continuing his journey to promote the economic value of Binh Thuan grown dragon fruits. Phu Cuong said, “The most special thing from the Startup Wheel competition is the chance to meet, exchange ideas, and listen to the feedback from potential customers and business partners with innovative takes on the market value and business opportunity for this new product.”
