Vietnam-Japan Institute of Technology (VJIT) welcomed Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City

Recently, Vietnam-Japan Institute of Technology (VJIT) of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a meeting with the Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City to promote internationalization in education and training quality for students.

Representatives of both parties included Ms. Yumioka Haruna - Consul, Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Nguyen Thi Bao Uyen - Consular Assistant for Culture - Education; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice Senior Director of VJIT; Mr. Pham Huynh Anh Viet - Vice Director of VJIT; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam - Assistant Director of the Institute of Corporate Relations - International Cooperation; Ms. Luu The Bao Anh - Assistant Director of the Institute of Student Affairs along with VJIT lecturers and students.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung gave gifts to the partners
 
Initially, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung sincerely thanked the partners for their support towards VJIT in cultural and international exchange activities between Vietnam and Japan. He expressed his hope that there would be additional future cooperation and development opportunities to strengthen their close bond.

Subsequently, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam briefly introduced VJIT as well as outstanding aspects of its training programs including preparation for students by means of specialized knowledge, essential skills, Japanese language skills, corporate culture, etc. Particularly, VJIT is teaching the PD project design course transferred by Kanazawa University of Technology (Japan).

Apart from their major and Japanese language study, VJIT students are also provided with extracurricular activities such as exchange opportunities with Japanese experts and students, cultural and language exchange programs, international semesters in Japan, all of which help equip students with necessary expertise and skills that fit the recruitment criteria of Japanese businesses.

Furthermore, VJIT students confidently and excitedly reported on their useful training and experiences, as well as the learning process in Japan, which incorporated a bilingual approach (Japanese and English). International exchange programs including SAKURA SCIENCE Exchange Program, study at Aomori University or the application process for internships at large corporations, such as Tsukamoto Post Transport Company and Toyota Mobility Shiga Company (Japan), have facilitated students in the comprehensive development of their learning and workplace abilities.

In response, Ms. Yumioka Haruna expressed that she was highly impressed with and appreciative of the training programs of VJIT. Also, she communicated her thanks to VJIT and hoped that both parties would mutually organize more programs and activities to promote the beauty of Japanese culture and academics as well as to expand their reach to international students.

The meeting opened up possibilities for future positive outcomes and potential opportunities for both parties in many aspects. Those occasions would contribute to the improvement of the learning and training experience, thus enhancing the quality of the students’ ability to integrate into a transnational setting as well as to motivate students to strive to accomplish their career goals.
