On the afternoon of May 4, students majoring in psychology concluded the short-term course titled “DSM-5 Diagnostic Manual for Psychological and Psychotic Disorders”. The course was organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH). Students were able to obtain participation certificates at the end of the course.

Started on April 26, the course was taught directly by Dr. Pham Toan - Psychologist, former Head of the Psychotherapy Department at Hamilton-Madison House (New York City, United States). The course focused on disorders commonly found among adults and children as well as innovation in researches, diagnosis of psychological disorders according to the latest method - DSM-5.

After 5 sessions, students were instructed on how to set up a clinical case, how to identify, analyze, evaluate, diagnose common psychological disorders and be able to provide intervention approaches according to the DSM-5 method. The course helped students to improve their counseling and psychotherapy skills - necessary professional competencies for students of all specializations in the field of psychology.
