Contestant Dang Thai Son wins the first prize of HUTECH Designer 2019

Contestant Dang Thai Son (Fashion Design major, Faculty of Architecture and Arts) was crowned the winner of HUTECH Designer 2019 that was held on June 8 with his collection "Kabuto" inspired by samurai warriors.
Organized by HUTECH, this year’s fashion design contest with the theme “Idol Stylist” has received significant support from the sponsoring organization, Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association - VITAS. Attending the finale night were representatives of partner organizations, including VITAS and several media outlets along with leaders of HUTECH.

The finale is the competition of 19 contestants who have been divided into two groups (A and B). While Group A includes students from universities, colleges, and professional trade schools, Group B is designated for high school students.

" Summer Ice-cream" by Nguyen Thai Duong (Trung Vuong High School)
"Feminist" by Chau Thuy Ngoc Quy (Hoang Hoa Tham High School)
In Group A, contestants have to present a collection including three different designs (evening, performance, and utility). On the other hand, only one performance wear design is required from each contestant from Group B. This is the result of the work between the contestants and the expert advisors of the contest.

In the end, the contestant Dang Thai Son (HUTECH) received was crowned the winner.
a cash prize of 30.000.000 VND. In addition, the jury also awarded consolation prizes including Creative Ideas, Unique Materials, Impressive Colors, and Skillful Techniques. In Group B, contestant Huynh Nguyen Kien Thuc won the Most Promising Prize worth 5,000,000 VND along with a scholarship worth 75% of the full course fee when enrolling in the Fashion Design program at HUTECH.
