Students from the Faculty of Communication & Design at HUTECH explore the profession of film production

Recently, the Faculty of Communication & Design at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) organized a workshop titled "Career Paths in the Field of Film Production" to help students determine their career direction and choose a suitable specialization.

The workshop was attended by MSc. Dang Thi Mai Phuong - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Communication & Design, along with other faculty members from the department. The main speakers at the workshop, Mr. Hoang Si Dang, Mr. Vu Minh Nghia, and Ms. Hoang Tran Minh Duc - prominent directors in the Vietnamese film industry, provided interesting insights into the filmmaking field for the students.

At the beginning of the workshop, the speakers shared stories with the students about their early days of entering the filmmaking profession, the special reasons that led them to choose a career in film production, unexpected career transitions, and behind-the-scenes anecdotes.

During the workshop, it was emphasized that becoming a film producer requires relentless effort. First and foremost, students must have a passionate love for the world of cinema and learn to understand the unique language of the art of film. Next, they should delve deep into the history of cinema, various genres, production techniques, and storytelling frameworks to gain a comprehensive understanding of the profession. Subsequently, they should engage in practical projects to learn and familiarize themselves with the production process, building relationships within the industry – a crucial factor for future success. The speakers also advised the students to actively participate in independent projects, showcase creative ideas, and establish their own reputation in the industry.

It is believed that the information shared during the workshop has equipped the students with a solid foundation of knowledge about film production, enabling them to confidently take steps toward pursuing their passion in their chosen profession.
