HUTECH STUDENTS AWARDED TWO PRIZES OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AT MINISTRY LEVEL

On 23rd December, 2010 The Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and VietNam's Science and Technology Union announced the result of the 22nd competition called "Students' Scientific Research" and the 18th Award named "VietNam's Technology Creativity - VIFOTEC" for students at universities and institutes nationwide. Students' scientific works which are practical and creative were honored due to their contributions to the science and technology of the country.
The topic "Research on selection of microorganism species having the ability of protein treatment and applications for water treatment in aquaculture process" carried out by Trương Thị Mỹ Khanh and Vũ Thị Hương Lan (Faculty of Environment and Biotechnology - HUTECH) was awarded the Third prize. The result of the research is about the database of the microorganism species which have the ability of disintegrating protein in aquatic waste water. This is the precondition to produce bio-products utilized to treat waste water at commercial scale.

After three months of doing this research at HUTECH experimental centers, the research group made a pratical contribution, with a stable scientific foundation and a logical research content, to the treatment of environmental pollution in general and to the aquatic process in particular.
Besides the third prize, the study named "Research on development of nutritous drinks and baby foods from Malt rice" also got the Consolation Prize, done by a student group including Lê Uyên Minh, Nguyễn Phương Duy, Trần Lê Thiên Lý, Tôn Nữ Huỳnh Hoa and Đoàn Thị Tú Quyên, from the Faculty of Food Technology.
