Science is not far from reality: from traffic jams to child cares

Even sitting in universities, many students designed products with technological innovation.

The aircraft observes the traffic.

This is the graduation project of Duong Ngoc Tri , a final year student majoring in Mechanical - Electronic Engineering , Ho chi minh city University of Technology( Hutech). After 3 ½ months of hard working , Tri has successfully made the aircraft observed topography. Tri said the selection of materials to make aircraft parts is the most important stages in order to control the compact weight, gravity for the plane to take off and land safely. From the raw materials such as foam, high quality plastic and steel, Tri has introduced compact plane (weighs 800 gr, 108 cm wide and 84 cm long).

Tri said: "The aircraft can fly at altitudes up to 1000 meters for 20 minutes. If the battery quality can be improved, the aircraft can fly longer. Being controlled by the remote control, the aircraft with the camera record images capturing during the flight area. Therefore, the plane can be used in many cases such as observing and researching wildlife in distance, observing traffic to show a best solution avoiding traffic jams, or observing the skyscrapers to manage fire rick ".

The passion for research and innovation aircraft grows with Tri since he was a child. To have a final product, Tri has conducted more than 40 times testing in District 2 and Binh Tan (Vietnam). "Each time, the driver's feeling great! " Tri happily expressed about the clip recording the flight times.

Laboratory of automotive electronics of Technical Pegagogic University  also launched products Rudo intelligent robot dog, made by student groups, including Pham Thanh Go, Ho Huy Huan, Thinh Le Nhu Vo Xuan Canh, Huynh Ngoc Tien Dat, under the direction of Dr. Nguyen Ba Hai (Chairman of the lab). Rudo dog was called Dalmatian because of his spotted coat. After the hard working of the group, the dog has a length of 75 cm, weighs 5 kg is capable of barking, singing, reading stories, English speaking, moving tail, head, legs ...

Dr. Nguyen Ba Hai, said: "The greatest role of Rudo is to keep the house, make friends with the owner especially with the children. In addition, The dog can be used as a device to enhance the learning interest in subjects with the interaction between humans and robots, mechatronics applications, specializing in algorithms and LabVIEW programming, measurement and automatic control. Dr. Hai underlined: "Rudo robot is programmed using LabVIEW with friendly interface, easy to use and flexible software that helps to change the robot dog that can serve many different child objects. In the future, the team will apply the higher technology into robots to help the dog can differentiate  between the owner and the stranger. We hope to develop robot toys with cheap technology to serve the children."
