After days filled with vibrant volunteer work and cultural exchange, the Global Service Learning 2025 program officially came to a close on the afternoon of January 4. The program brought together students from the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Technology (VKIT) under HUTECH and partner institutions from South Korea, including Tongmyong University and Gwangju Women’s University.

During the closing ceremony, Ms. Won Kwi Jeong, Vice Director of VKIT, expressed her sincere thanks to all faculty members and students for their active participation in the program’s community service and cultural classes. Though brief, the experience was filled with unity and meaningful moments. She shared her hope that the program would continue in future years, offering even more opportunities for students from all three universities to connect and grow together.

Prof. Lee Ji Eun, lecturer in the Department of Welfare Management at Tongmyong University and coordinator of the program, along with Prof. Lim Kwi Cha, lecturer in Early Childhood Education and Director of the Industry Cooperation Center at Gwangju Women’s University, also expressed their joy over the success of the initiative. They extended heartfelt thanks to HUTECH’s faculty and students, highlighting the value of fostering international exchange and collaboration.

The days of working and learning side by side built a strong bond between VKIT students and their Korean peers. Many Korean students, especially those visiting Vietnam for the first time, spoke of their initial uncertainty—while returning participants shared a sense of familiar excitement. Regardless of whether it was a new experience or a cherished return, each moment left a lasting emotional impression.

Representing HUTECH, Nguyen Huu Loi—a second-year Korean Language major at VKIT—reflected: “This is my first time joining Global Service Learning, and it has given me many valuable memories that I’ll always treasure. I hope to keep participating in the program in the coming years and continue creating more beautiful moments with everyone.”
The conclusion of Global Service Learning 2025 marks yet another milestone in HUTECH’s commitment to fostering an international learning environment and strengthening the friendship between Vietnamese and Korean students. With the meaningful experiences and achievements gained, the program is sure to continue inspiring students to enhance both their professional knowledge and essential soft skills—equipping them to become confident, capable global citizens.
