HUTECH celebrates the start of the 2012-2013 academic year and the Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20)

In leading up to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2012), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held the official ceremony to welcome the start of the 2012-2013 academic year and celebration of Vietnamese Teachers' Day. The event took place at HUTECH campus on November 17, 2012.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training, agencies and departments of Ho Chi Minh City, and all officials, lecturers, staff and students of the university.

On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Minh Thi - Chairman of the University’s Founding Council, Member of the University’s Board of Trustees was honored to receive the title of Meritorious Teacher by the President. Moreover, 10 officials, lecturers, and staff of the university were also awarded the Certificate of Merits from the Minister of Education and Training for their outstanding contributions to the development of the university. Besides, Ho Chi Minh City Labor Confederation awarded the certificate and emulation flag to HUTECH’s Labor Union.
The School announced the awarding decisions for 02 HUTECH lecturers who won the title of Outstanding Young Lecturers voted by the City’s Youth Union. The leaders of the university also recognize the contribution of six collectives and 18 individuals for their excellent performance in the 2011-2012 academic year and the students winning high prizes in the university-level scientific research movement.

To timely encourage and reward students who had excellent academic achievements, the university also awarded 108 "HUTECH Talent" scholarships and 170 "HUTECH Overcoming Hardship" scholarships to students. The total value of the scholarships and rewards from HUTECH Scholarship Fund was nearly 2 billion VND.
