Nearly 1,000 students take on a series of technology challenges at OLP’25, OlpAI’25, Procon’25, and ICPC Asia HCMC 2025

Taking place from December 8 to 12, 2025 at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), the 34th Vietnam Student Informatics Olympiad (OLP’25), the 1st Vietnam Student Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (OlpAI’25), Procon Vietnam, and the ICPC Asia HCMC 2025 brought an exciting series of technology challenges to participating students nationwide and abroad.

These competitions are jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Association for Information Processing, the Vietnam National Union of Students, and HUTECH. The event is endorsed by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, and the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee.

This year’s series gathered nearly 1,000 IT students and nearly 200 coaches from 87 universities, colleges, and institutes, alongside the expanded participation of specialized high schools and 20 international teams from Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Thailand

On December 12, teams at ICPC Asia HCMC 2025 will compete in a highly challenging programming round to qualify for the ICPC Asia Pacific Round in Taiwan (February–March 2026), advancing toward the ICPC 2026 World Finals
 
Nguyen Tien Anh, a fourth-year IT student at HUTECH and finalist at OlpAI’25, shared: “Besides winning Third Prize in the Southern Region, I feel I gained so much from this competition. The biggest takeaway was the hands-on experience of facing strong teams from across the country, which helped me identify what I need to improve. I also made many new connections and learned the importance of teamwork, which is a decisive factor in competitions that demand fast coordination and collective problem-solving.”
