HUTECH students win 2 top prizes at the 2012 Young Designer fashion design contest

After 2 months of competition, Vuong Han Lam - student of the class of 2006, Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) has won the First Prize (worth 100 million VND) and the People’s Choice Award (worth 10 million VND).
The "Intersectionality" collection of Vuong Han Lam received great reviews from the judges for the clever utilization of different materials while being able to show off their contrasting qualities through combinations (e.g., tough/fragile, glossy/ matte, modern/classic, soft patterns/rough materials).

The finale of the 2012 Young Designer fashion contest took place last night (November 17) at Hoan Vu Theater (Ho Chi Minh City). The event was also broadcasted live on VTV6 channel.
During the finale, the top 10 best contestants presented the most impressive designs to the judges (including designer Cong Tri, designer Mountain Yam - Hong Kong, supermodel Thanh Hang, photographer Tang Tang and two representatives of Her World magazine including Nguyen Thuy Linh and Genevieve Jiang).

Thus, among the professional fashion design competitions held on a national scale such as Aquafina, Triumph, Rise above and the Young Designer contest organized by Her World, HUTECH students have won the top prizes and many important awards further affirming the strength and quality of the fashion design program at HUTECH.
