On April 26, 2024, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held the 29th anniversary ceremony (26/04/1995 - 26/04/2024), marking nearly three decades of establishment and development and efforts to accomplish new remarkable achievements.

The ceremony took place at Thu Duc Campus with the attendance of the following representatives: Dr. Nguyen Xuan Truong - Director of the Southern Education and Training Development Center, Ministry of Education and Training; Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Deputy Head of the Ministry Office, Director of the Southern Office, Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Pham Kieu Hung - Head of the Commendation and Reward Board of Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Ms. Dinh Thi Thao Trang - Member of the Standing Committee, Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee of the Universities and Colleges; Ms. Vu Thi Ngoc - Head of the Southern Representative Office, Education Trade Union of Vietnam; Ms. Huynh Ngoc Van - Vice Permanent Chairman of the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association, Ho Chi Minh City.

Notably, there was the presence of those who have been closely associated and supported HUTECH Education system, such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF), Royal International Bilingual School, along with the leaders of partner companies, enterprises, and banks. Representatives of HUTECH included Dr. Kieu Tuan - Party Secretary, Standing Member of the Board of Directors; Assoc.Prof.Meritorious Teacher Cao Minh Thi - Chairman of the Founding Council along with the founding members; Dr. Kieu Xuan Hung - Chairman of the Board of Directors along with the Board’s members; Prof.Dr.Sc. Ho Dac Loc - President of the University along with the Board of Presidents, staff and lecturers.

In the solemn atmosphere, Prof.Dr.Sc. Ho Dac Loc - the President of the University - was deeply moved upon recalling HUTECH's 29-year journey of development, highlighting its significant contributions to the country's progress: "Throughout the past 29 years, HUTECH has continuously developed, achieving remarkable accomplishments, leaving a lasting imprint on society, and instilling trust in students and parents. That’s why we are always grateful and highly appreciative of the contributions of generations of HUTECH's employees and students”.

He also expressed his hope: "Today, looking back on the 29-year journey and moving towards the 30th year, we can obviously see that 30 years will be a crucial milestone. From now on, the HUTECH collective will strive to bear belief, compassion, and enthusiasm in our hearts, along with the collective endeavors of the university both employees and students, and the contributions of society, to build even bigger dreams. Happy 29th birthday to HUTECH and congratulations to all of us. I hope that HUTECH will keep thriving to become a destination for dreams to come true”.

With its relentless efforts to enhance the training quality, HUTECH was honored to receive numerous commendations and certificates from various organizations and authorities. Specifically, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong was awarded the Certificate of quality standards in the management system for educational organizations according to ISO 21001:2018/TCVN 21001:2019. Representatives of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Civil Engineering received the Certificates of quality standards in university education for two undergraduate training programs (Pharmacy and Construction Management majors) according to the ASEAN University Network - Quality Assessment (AUN-QA) standards.

The HUTECH leader received the Certificate of Achievement in meeting the ISO 21001:2018/TCVN 21001:2019 standard

The Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Civil Engineering received the Certificates for meeting the quality standards of two undergraduate programs

In order to enhance exchanges and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan and to promote community engagement activities, Ms. Huynh Ngoc Van has established the "Vietnam - Japan Rotary Yoneyama Friendship Association" headquartered at HUTECH, appointing Assoc.Prof.Dr. Thai Van Nam as the Association Representative.

Assoc. Prof. Thai Van Nam received the Decision on the establishment of the "Vietnam - Japan Rotary Yoneyama Friendship Association"

Furthermore, the Prime Minister's award was awarded the Faculty of Finance and Commerce and Institute of Engineering. The Minister of Education and Training’s award was given to 15 units and 12 individuals. The award from the Chairman of the Hochiminh City People's Committee was presented to 17 units and 11 individuals while that from the People's Committee of Dong Thap Province was given to two units and four individuals. Additionally, HUTECH recognized the achievements of t Dr. Le Thi Ngoc Thao - Dean of the Academic Affairs Office and Dr. Nguyen Phuong Tung - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Laboratory for completing their fellowship programs, as well as lecturers for guiding their students to high achievements in academic competitions and scientific research.
