HUTECH organized National Awareness Day for CATALYST project

On December 01st, the Institute of International Education at Ho Chi Minh City Unviersity of Technology (HUTECH) organized a “National Awareness Day” for the CATALYST Project, with the conference “Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education”.
Participating the conference were Ms. Inga Kristein – representative form Goethe-Institut HCM city; Prof. Mihaela Albu – Department of Electrical Engineering, Politechnica University of Bucharest (Romania); Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Huong – chief representative of PUM Netherlands senior experts; Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Vi - chief representative of Nuffic Neso Vietnam; Dr. Nguyen Vu Lan – Deputy head of International Relations Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education.

HUTECH was represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Xuan Lam – Vice president; Dr. Pham Thi Hai Quynh – Director of Institute of International Education; Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thanh Phuong – Director of Institute of Engineering; MSc. Nguyen Thi Duc Hanh – Vice-dean of Faculty of Pharmacy; together with many HUTECH lecturers and students.

Giving a speech at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Xuan Lam stressed the importance of cooperating with international universities and projects to HUTECH, he also expressed that HUTECH is always looking forward to such cooperation opportunities in order to develop the university, and to help the students in adapting with the international society.

At the conference, the experts presented and discussed matters related to vocational teaching, competency, foreign language teaching methods and learners’ care in Vietnam as well as the suitability and adaptability of graduated students. They also suggested the project’s solutions for vocational teaching in Vietnam. This is a basis for CATALYST project members to improve their training quality and meet the standards of the society in the integrating era.
