Two CEOs from Tiki and Momo share online business methods with students of HUTECH’s Faculty of Finance and Commerce

On April 15, the Faculty of Finance and Commerce at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) held a seminar titled "HUTECH students start-up and develop online businesses on e-commerce platforms.” The program included guests speakers from Tiki Joint Stock Company and Momo Online Mobile Service Joint Stock Company.
Attending the seminar were members of the University’s leadership, Board of Presidents, Dean of the Faculty along with lecturers from the Faculty of Finance - Commerce.

The seminar has invited several industry representatives to be guest speakers, including Mr. Nguyen Chi Tho - Senior Director of Tiki Trading Joint Stock Company, Mr. Thai Tri Hung - Deputy General Director of Momo - Online Mobile Service Joint Stock Company, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tri - Sales Director of PA Vietnam Co., Ltd., and Mr. Pham Hoang Viet - Director of E-commerce Development and Digital Transformation of IM Group. The seminar also features the appearance of Vietnam Animal Industry Joint Stock Company (Vissan) along with representatives from other businesses and enterprises.
At the seminar, the guest speakers provided students with a comprehensive market overview and current trends in e-commerce. According to studies and statistical reports by Google, Temasek, Bain & Co., Vietnam currently has one of the fastest-growing B2C e-commerce markets in Southeast Asia, which has created significant employment opportunities for students majoring in Economics, E-commerce, Information Technology, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Tho showed his enthusiasm in sharing his valuable experience and knowledge related to effective market strategies and prevalent business models that have been applied on different e-commerce platforms.
In the latter part of the program, Mr. Thai Tri Hung took a deep dive into the factors driving the e-commerce boom in Vietnam. He advised those who are harboring entrepreneurial intentions to make good use of this opportunity and implement their business plans as soon as possible. Given the fast pace of change in the global business environment, smart and timely decisions will avoid the risk of falling behind other business competitors.

After listening to information presented by the guest speakers, HUTECH students had the chance to participate and engage in the Q&A session. Questions related to the challenges encountered in the e-commerce business, building a successful e-commerce brand from the scratch, how to make an online business stand out from competitors, and effective sales strategies were among the topics that interested students attending the seminar. Our guest speakers were also more than happy to answer these questions thoroughly.

Despite the limited time, the seminar was a valuable learning opportunity thanks to the inspiring and informative speeches of the guest speakers. Moreover, students of the Faculty of Finance and Commerce have also gained important practical knowledge about the potential of the e-commerce market that could benefit their entrepreneurial journey in this promising sector.
