Solutions for quality enhancement in the implementation of Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Banking, and Business training programs at the ESR2021 Conference

On June 19, the Citywide Scientific Conference titled "Research, Teaching, Learning and Application in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Banking and Business at Vietnamese Higher Education Institutions in the Digital Age” (ESR2021) was conducted via an online format. This year’s virtual conference was co-organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH).
ESR2021 Citywide Scientific Conference takes place via an online format
This year's conference was organized under a multi-location video conference format via Cisco Webex platform that included the main event at HUTECH campus and other live locations of speakers and participating guests. The organization of a virtual conference helped to ensure the health safety of conference participants amid the complicated and unpredictable development of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ESR2021 Conference included the participation of several leaders of HUTECH, including members of the University’s Board of Directors and Board of Presidents, along with representatives of the Institute of Business Research - Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance as well as other universities in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces.

Industry representatives and conference sponsors include VISSAN Co., Binh Thuan Lottery Co., Ltd., Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company, Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam, Dan Tuan Tax Training and Accounting Consulting Service Co., Ltd., The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Besides, joining the conference were researchers, lecturers from several local universities, including University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, University of Economics and Law – VNU HCM, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages – Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry and Thu Dau Mot University, and Thu Dau Mot University.

The conference was presided by Prof. Dr. Vo Xuan Vinh, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Tung - Dean of HUTECH’s Faculty of Finance and Commerce, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phu Tu - Dean of HUTECH’s Faculty of Business Administration, and Meritous Teacher Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Loan - Former Dean of the Faculty of Accounting and Auditing - Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City.

The conference included five main reports that raised important issues related to research and training activities in the fields of accounting, finance, and banking. These reports are as follows: “Global Fintech Trends & Human Resources Training in Vietnam’s Finance and Banking Sector” by Dr. Le Duc Thang; “Impact of Technology on Liquidity Risk of Commercial Joint Stock Banks in Vietnam” by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi My Linh; “Study on the Impact of E-commerce on Economic Growth: Empirical Evidence from Countries Around the World” by Dr. Vu Duc Binh; “Digital Analytics in Finance and Accountancy” by Ms. Le Thi Hau; and “Development Opportunities for Digital Marketing in Post Covid-19 Period in Vietnam” by Mr. Nguyen Phuc Khoa.

The reports are presented and discussed at the online conference
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Tung affirmed, "The results obtained from the ESR2021 Conference contribute to the strengthening of the scientific foundation and practical knowledge of HUTECH and other universities in the digital transformation of teaching and learning activities, as well as enhancing the quality of human resources, thereby adapting to the prevailing trends in the Industry 4.0 era.”
